Privacy policy

When you run a scan, we collect:

• Your photo and face measurements. The 468 points of your face are measured in your own browser, on your device. The photo and those measurements are sent to our servers to calculate your ratings and to let you view your results.
• Your answers in the scan. Things like your age range and what you’d like to improve, used only to personalise your result.
• Account information. If you create an account, your email address is collected and managed through our authentication provider, Clerk.
• Basic usage data. We record which step of the scan a visitor reaches (for example, that the camera was opened), tied to a random id stored in your browser rather than to your name or account. This helps us see which parts of the scan are unclear and improve them. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Your photo is analysed by an AI model (provided by OpenAI) to rate things like skin, jawline definition and hair. That photo is not used to train OpenAI’s models or anyone else’s.

Your photo and results are stored with your scan for one reason: so you can come back, see your results again, and compare them with a later rescan. Your scan is never made public, never shown to other users, and never used for advertising or marketing of any kind.

Subscription payments are handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never receive or store your card details — Stripe passes us only a confirmation that a payment succeeded.

We use a small number of cookies, none of which are used for advertising:

• A random id that lets us connect your scan to your results and, if you choose to invite friends, to your referral link.
• A session cookie set by Clerk, our authentication provider, to keep you signed in.

We keep your scan and account data for as long as your account exists. To have your account, scans and photos permanently deleted, send us a message through the contact page. We delete everything on request; this cannot be undone.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in storage and in transit. Access to our systems is limited to authorized personnel and is used only to operate, maintain and secure the service.

LooksTest is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the date above.
